Ancient Greece, Cyprus, Iron Age, Cypro-Archaic Phase, ca. 700 to 475 BCE. A lovely bi-chrome terracotta vessel with a globular body adorned by several finely delineated target motifs and striations, a cylindrical neck adorned by two narrow bands at its lower end and a wider band just below the rim; this neck gently flaring to a broad mouth, and twin strap handles adorned by fret motifs joining neck to shoulder. All sits upon an elegant ring base. A wonderful example of Cypriot pottery featuring the target design which was a particularly popular motif for vessels produced in Cyprus during this period. Size: 3.875" W x 4.375" H (9.8 cm x 11.1 cm)
