Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, Protoclassic, San Sebastian style, ca. 100 BCE to 250 CE. An adorable quadruped puppy dog with four squat legs, a bulbous body, and a tail running from behind his back to the top of his head. The visage is comprised of twin flap-shaped ears, disc-shaped eyes, an elongated snout, and a slit for a mouth. Light-orange painted details adorn the surface atop a deep russet-hued ground. Size: 5" L (12.7 cm).
