Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Java, Majapahit, ca. 12th to 14th century CE. An attractive strand of 35 beautiful Indonesian glass beads of near-round forms, most of matte citron and spring green hues, the three largest of mesmerizing millefiori mosaic patterns and wonderful color combinations - one speckled red and white on a black ground, another with red/yellow eye-like motifs on a green ground and black and white 'eyes' on a royal blue ground, and finally the largest central bead with white teardrop like motifs against a peacock blue/black ground. Complementing these are four fluted round silver beads. All strung on an attractive twisted black cord. An exquisite piece of wearable art! Size: 28" L (71.1 cm); largest bead measures 1.125" L x 1" W (2.9 cm x 2.5 cm)

  • Condition: Millefiori bead with eye motifs shows surface fissures, but is stable. One green bead repaired. Several glass beads with minor wear/scuffs commensurate with age. Silver beads show expected tarnish. Stunning and wearable.
