Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Guanacaste / Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A hand-carved greenstone celt pendant depicting an abstract anthropoid figure, its features rendered via string-cut grooves. Broad eyes and lips surround a triangular nose, and a suspension hole is drilled laterally through the neck. Size: 0.41" L x 1.02" W x 4.60" H (1 cm x 2.6 cm x 11.7 cm); 6.08" H (15.4 cm) on included custom stand.
