Description:

Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A string-cut stone axe god figure of abstract avian form bearing a flared lower body, wings bulging out at the chest, and a sizable head with a triangular beak and recessed eyes. A drilled suspension hole through the neck enables it to be suspension from a necklace strand or display stand. Size: 0.8" L x 1.625" W x 3.3" H (2 cm x 4.1 cm x 8.4 cm); 3.8" H (9.7 cm) on included custom stand.

  • Condition: Repaired from 2 large pieces, with resurfacing and very light adhesive residue along break lines. Light abrasions and pitting, with some minor earthen deposits, otherwise in great condition. Nice surface smoothness throughout.
