Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A group of 2 hand-carved greenstone celt-form idol figures, each of abstract form that exhibits characteristically avian facial features and laterally-drilled suspension holes through the neck. The first figure exhibits darker green hues and has a petite crest atop the head, and the larger features a pair of nubbins protruding from atop the head. Size of largest (light green): 0.375" L x 1.1" W x 3.6" H (1 cm x 2.8 cm x 9.1 cm); (dark green): 0.8" L x 0.7" W x 3.1" H (2 cm x 1.8 cm x 7.9 cm)

Provenance: private Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA collection, acquired 1969 to 1970; ex-Dr. Jorge Lineas, San Jose, Costa Rica
