Description:

A wonderful example of an abstract anthropomorphic figural celt pendant that has been hand-carved from mottled turquoise-hued omphacite jade. The tall and slender figure presents with several string-cut grooves that create the bent legs, trapezoidal feet, neckline, and hands facing in opposite directions. The enlarged head exhibits drilled eyes beneath sweeping brows, a semicircular nose, a wide mouth with thin lips and drilled corners, and a gently corseted forehead, all beneath a cap incised with a zigzagging motif. A drilled cavity atop the head connects to the lateral drill holes within the neck. Size: 1.9" W x 4.8" H (4.8 cm x 12.2 cm); 5.2" H (13.2 cm) on included custom stand.
