Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, Nicoya region, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. A hand-built pottery jar with a wide, piriform body atop a squat foot. The exterior surfaces are first laid with a beige-hued ground and decorated with abstract phytomorphic forms, zigzags, and chevron motifs that create a wondrous presentation. Size: 5.7" Diameter x 5.875" H (14.5 cm x 14.9 cm)
