Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, Nicoya region, ca. 300 to 500 CE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery artifacts - a figure and a bowl. The nude female figure sits on ample legs and exhibits black tattooing across her body and head. The larger piece is a tripodal bowl, adorned in red and black linear motifs, with the head, limbs, and tail of a coatimundi extending out from the sides. Size of largest: 7.9" L x 5.5" W x 5.3" H (20.1 cm x 14 cm x 13.5 cm)

  • Condition: Repair to front leg of bowl and repair to head of figure at neck line, both with small chips and adhesive residue along break lines. Each with abrasions, fading to pigment, and light earthen deposits, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to most decorative motifs.
