A skillfully carved jade bird pendant of sage green hues with elegant black inclusions, the lower section a slender, pointed celt form, the upper section representing a perky bird denizen of the Costa Rican rainforest with a lofty crest and elegantly delineated beak. In the Pre-Columbian World, birds were regarded as animals of the celestial realm that served as messengers between humankind and their deities. Laterally drilled behind the beak. Size: .375" W x 3.5" H (1 cm x 8.9 cm)
