Pre-Columbian, Costa Rica, Central Highlands, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A breathtaking avian-form pendant, expertly carved from an extremely high quality translucent jade of verdant green hues. In the form of a very slender celt with a thin blade at lower section, and two distinct avian form heads, one atop the other, both with large beaks, partially drilled eyes, horizontal crested details, and two small raised nodes at top, lateral drilled holes through each head for suspension or attachment. A true beauty! Size: .375" at widest point x 4.375" H (1 cm x 11.1 cm)
