**First Time At Auction**

Egypt, Coptic culture, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A lovely textile panel fragment composed of tightly woven natural cotton fibers in hues of wheat and coffee. The peripheries are lined with repeating registers of enclosed spade-shaped leaves as well as two broad brown bands. The central column illustrates a gently oscillating interior band filled with highly stylized female dancers and exterior spaces filled with abstract avian creatures among leafy tendrils. Custom acrylic display case included. Size (textile): 5.3" W x 8.9" H (13.5 cm x 22.6 cm); (display case): 8.2" W x 10.2" H (20.8 cm x 25.9 cm)
