Description:

Pre-Columbian, Panama (the gold bird) and Colombia (all other gold and quartz beads and pendants), ca. 800 to 1500 CE. A stunning, wearable necklace comprised of ancient pendants and beads. Five pendants stud it at regular intervals - a beautiful long-tailed bird, perhaps a hummingbird, a trio of dramatic zoomorphic quadrupeds with horns; and a lovely, detailed seashell. Between these are dozens of granulated gold beads and translucent white quartz disc-shaped beads. The gold ranges from 77 to 89% pure (18-21K+). Size of necklace: 18.5" L (47 cm); bird pendant is: 0.75" H (1.9 cm)
