Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built ceramic figure of a standing shamanic warrior, posed dynamically with a wide club held in left hand and a raised right hand holding a stone. The figure wears a tall, crested headdress with accompanying chin strap, a necklace hanging in front of his chest, and has a large post behind him with a bird (appearing to be a large parrot) perched upon the top. A finely-modeled figure from this ancient shaft-tomb culture! Size: 5" W x 6.75" H (12.7 cm x 17.1 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
