Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A finely-executed warrior figure standing atop delineated legs while wearing thick armor and brandishing a pair of tumi-shaped weapons. The figure also carries a large storage jar on his back - hence the cargador name - and a high-pitched whistle mouthpiece is located atop the peaked helmet. Size: 4.7" W x 5.75" H (11.9 cm x 14.6 cm)

  • Condition: Professional repair and restoration to necklace, right arm and tumi, and interior corner of left tumi, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Light earthen deposits and abrasions commensurate with age. Nice preservation to figural form. Whistle still makes high-pitched sound when used!
