Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A charming redware vessel in the form of a seated, smiling figure wearing a crested helmet as he holds a giant, cylindrical basin in his lap. A tunnel in the side of the basin interestingly leads to the hollow interior of the figure, allowing him to double as a vessel as well.
