Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 500 CE. This figurine is plain but has well-defined features including a headdress and a belt with possible ball game accoutrement. The arms fold in and are joined by the hand at the waist. Flat human figurines were frequently placed within shaft-and-chamber tombs in Colima during this time period; similar figures are often described as having a hieratic style with staring eyes and stiff postures.   • Condition: The figurine is not chipped. It is very plain with little decoration. One of the legs was cracked and repaired at some point. There is black writing on the back of the head.
