Description:

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hollow-built pottery vessel in the form of a seated woman with outstretched, attenuated legs, delineated genitalia, and faint traces of painted black details cover her lower body. Her cylindrical torso doubles as the vessel walls and shows incised bangs draped over rounded shoulders and sinuous arms covering her breasts. Coffee-bean eyes peer outward from above the prominent nose and pursed lips that form the minimalist face. The rim of the vessel is encircled with a simple head wrap of which the lower fold are held aloft by the tops of her ring-adorned ears. Size: 5.5" W x 7" H (14 cm x 17.8 cm).
