Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A rare example of a Colima bowl bearing a band of incised glyphs around the exterior rim. The glyphs take the forms of Xs, boxes, and stepped structures, all perhaps important symbols in Colima culture. Size: 7.1" W x 1.8" H (18 cm x 4.6 cm)
