**Originally Listed At $400**

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Chorrera culture, ca. 9th to 4th century BCE. A lovely hand-built terracotta female figure. She sits with her legs crossed in front, both hands on her knees, and has a thick torso and small perky breasts. A sturdy neck supports her bulbous head with a finely-executed visage comprised of recessed almond-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, parted lips, and partially-pierced ears with applied earspools, all beneath an elaborate rabbit-eared cap. Her neck is adorned with a large beaded necklace, and her body exhibits remains of red and orange pigment. A fine example from the ancient Chorrera! Size: 3.5" W x 5.5" H (8.9 cm x 14 cm).
