Description:

Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Toltec culture, ca. 900 to 1200 CE. A finely potted tripod bowl with deep incised grooves so it could be used as a grater - the incised markings creating imagery in the forms of concentric semi-circles around the interior periphery to perhaps represent hills or mountaintops surrounding a central incised design representing raindrops and swirling clouds. The legs still contain rattles that produce a percussive sound. Size: 6.875" in diameter x 3.375" H (17.5 cm x 8.6 cm)
