Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 2nd century CE. A semi-translucent, free-blown bowl with a delicate composition made from pale-blue glass. The ringed base is slightly-concave with a rough pontil, its tall walls extending to a rolled rim, and a deep interior cavity. The orientation of the rim is somewhat tilted, indicating this was not made using a mold of any kind. Faint areas of silvery patina adorn the surface and imbue the bowl with an effervescent appearance. A wonderful example from the ancient Roman Empire! Size: 4" W x 2.375" H (10.2 cm x 6 cm).
