East Asia, China, Wei Dynasty, ca. 557 to 386 CE. Lovely and graceful pottery tomb attendant in the form of a seated female. She sits with legs tucked behind her holding a chicken in her left hand, right extended, and may have once held something additional. She wears a long cape that is open to allow her hands to emerge; her hair in a tight bun. Remains of original pigment. Custom wooden base. A nice example! Size: 4" W x 7" H (10.2 cm x 17.8 cm) not including base.

Provenance: ex-private collection of Lupita Tovar, silent screen actress of the 1930's, Bel-Air, California USA, acquired in London (receipt included) in 1957
