Description:

East Asia, China, Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty, ca. 618 to 1279 CE. A really beautiful bowl with incredible, delicate, low relief motifs around and inside of its body. These raised decorations are highly polished, strongly contrasting with the unpolished body of the bowl itself. This gives the surface a finely textured appearance that requires study to see all of the details. The motifs are round, bursting flowers and spiraling vines. On the underside of the bowl, set inside a slightly raised ring that serves as a foot, is a square seal of the form known colloquially as a "chop" - though difficult to read. Size: 4.1" W x 2.2" H (10.4 cm x 5.6 cm)
