Description:

East Asia, China, Tang Dynasty, ca. 618 to 906 CE. A handsome pottery male figure shown standing dynamically atop a rectangular plinth and adorned in vibrant hues of scarlet, lemon chiffon, peach, and black. Left hand on hip, the figure places his weight on his right leg, bending his left as he holds his right hand to his chest in a fist, suggesting it previously held a banner or weapon. He wears a long-sleeved tunic belted at the waist and yellow pants as he gazes out at his viewer from beneath a brimmed hat. Size: 3.9" W x 11.3" H (9.9 cm x 28.7 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report is available to the buyer upon request.
