East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A carved nephrite jade ornament depicting a dragon or stylized beast curled with its tail touching its mouth, forming a circular disc. The surface features incised scrolling patterns, echoing the style of Neolithic bi disc jade carvings. Size: 2.5" Diameter (6.4 cm).

Provenance: private New Orleans, Louisiana, USA collection, acquired 1990s in the Caribbean
