Description:

**First Time At Auction**

China, Qing (Ching) Dynasty, ca 19th century. Heavy sword with iron blade that was purportedly used for executions (as in taking one's head clean off). The weight and shape of the blade supports this idea as the blade is obviously designed to be used in a downward sweeping fashion. Grip with sweeping guard and brass button pommel. An interesting example. Size: 23" L (58.4 cm)

Provenance: Ex-R. Pearson collection, acquired at auction
