Description:

East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A hand carved agate bead with a face rendered in low relief - the artisan utilizing the natural white veining to highlight the facial details. A hole was drilled vertically through the center, but at some point the stone split in two, the verso cleanly chipped off, revealing the groove of the suspension hole. Size: 0.87" L x 0.71" W (2.2 cm x 1.8 cm)
