Description:

Asian. East Asia, China, Neolithic Period, ca. 3000 to 2000 BCE. A round-bodied vessel standing on three pointed legs, its body covered in deeply incised, slightly curved lines, giving it a rough texture. The neck of the vessel is slightly corseted, then flares outward into a smooth, narrow rim. Chinese Neolithic pottery is often startling, quite different from pottery from any other tradition, with fascinating asymmetrical shapes and interesting decorative motifs that seem deliberately abstract. Size: 5.85" W x 5.65" H (14.9 cm x 14.4 cm)
