Description:

East Asia, China, Ming Dynasty, ca. 16th century CE. A wonderful porcelain meiping vase adorned with blue-and-white decoration of an imperial dragon, projecting an air of majesty and power as it strides around the exterior walls, its serpentine body meandering amongst whisps of auspicious clouds. Above the fantastical creature is a band of scrolling floral motif that embellishes the vessel's rounded shoulder, while below is a register of crisscross motifs and a petal lappet border that surrounds the base. Size: 7.3" Diameter x 10.9" H (18.5 cm x 27.7 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full printed and bound report will accompany the item upon purchase.
