East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A fine set of three mold-made pottery female tomb attendants, two hollow and one solid. All wearing floor-length robes that cascade down their slender figures, two of the figures stand with one hand hanging to their side and another on their bellies, while the third figure stands with both hands folded on her chest. Lovely remains of pale pigment adorn two of the figures, who also present minimalistic visages of bulging cheeks, flat noses, prominent eyes, and full lips. Impressive examples from the Han dynasty!
