East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A charming collection of three cloisonne enamel vessels in the form of farm birds with brass, and a copper alloys with light silver and gold wash. The goose is brass, the rooster is a leaded copper alloy with trace gold and silver content, possibly from gilding. The predominantly blue duck is also a leaded-copper alloy with a silver and gold content. Size of rooster: 7" L x 6" W x 7.5" H (17.8 cm x 15.2 cm x 19 cm); gold quality: 2.6%

Provenance: private Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA collection, acquired between 1964 to mid-1990s

  • Condition: Nicks to enamel and some surface discoloration. Interior of duck has a heavy green patina and mineral buildup from previous use. Patina and dark toning on metal areas of all. Good vintage / antique condition.
