East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty to Republic period, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A collection of vintage enamel and cloisonne gilt brass statues and vessels: duck figurines, lidded jars, and pricket candlestick / incense burners in the form of mythical dragon turtle creatures known as longgui. The pair of smaller ducks have circular lids and hollow bodies for holding trinkets. The dragon turtle's shell carapace is removable and pieced for ventilation of incense and the finial spike or pricket for holding a candle is removable as well. Size of dragon turtles: 6" L x 3" W x 5.75" H (15.2 cm x 7.6 cm x 14.6 cm); gold quality: 1% to 10%

  • Condition: Lidded ducks vessels have signs of heavy use and might be older than the rest. Indentations to base and small perforation on the base of one. Patina, green oxidation and stains to brass. Dragon turtles also have wear to interior and mineral deposits and wax from use. Duck figures are intact and great vintage condition.
