Pre-Columbian, Nayarit, West Mexico, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. This is a pottery figure shown seated with wide hips and thin arms resting crossed atop knees, body bent slightly forward. His background is red slip with black painted details to show scarification/tattoos in several places on the body, including the face. This is a figure that would have been placed into a shaft tomb beneath a household. Size: 4.3" L x 6.5" W x 7.8" H (10.9 cm x 16.5 cm x 19.8 cm).
