Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A hand-carved wooden anthropomorphic figure of highly stylized form bearing scattered remains of white pigment. The oversized head and undecorated body suggest this was perhaps a child's play toy that could be dressed in different outfits and painted with various colors. Size: 3.3" W x 7.6" H (8.4 cm x 19.3 cm); 9.4" H (23.9 cm) on included custom stand.
