Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu culture, ca. 700 - 900 CE. Small section of woven camelid wool. Centered on the piece is a bird figure with spread wings and splayed tail. Both above and below the bird is a border of stylized nested birds that may be viewed from two directions. Below are remnants of woven fringe bearing four incomplete strips with rows of colorful birds in vertical registers.
