Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A charming necklace made from over a hundred tiny silver seed beads and featuring a pair of solid silver tweezers as a pendant, held in place by a red shell disc bead. The Chimu used tweezers as part of their daily life, plucking beards, eyebrows, etc. - just as we do today. Ancient beads and tweezers, modern cord. Size of tweezers: 2.05" H (5.2 cm); length of necklace: 22" L (55.9 cm); all silver is approximately 98% pure; total weight of beads and tweezers: 40.1 grams
