Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A unique and interesting blackware vessel molded in the form of a large reed shaped boat of a style commonly used by the Chimu for ocean fishing. On its upper body are two human figures who sit facing each other; the spout flares outward from the top of one of their heads. A thick strap arches outward from the back of this figure to connect to the flat side of the vessel. It stands on a broad, tall foot. A fascinating reminder of an everyday Chimu activity! Size: 5.95" W x 5.1" H (15.1 cm x 13 cm)
