Pre-Columbian, Northern Coast of Peru, Chimu culture, ca. 1100 to 1470 AD; Inca Empire, Post-Conquest period, ca. 16th to 17th century CE. A lovely pair of tumis: 1 Chimu copper tumi and another made of bronze from post-Conquest Inca culture. The Chimu copper tumi has a long tang that dramatically flares out to a broad head with a curved blade, all enveloped in a green patina. Conversely, the Inca bronze tumi is shaped like a T with a suspension hole at the end of its slender tang and is covered in a russet patina. Size of largest (Chimu): 5.1" L x 3.7" W (13 cm x 9.4 cm)

  • Condition: Both have expected surface wear with some minor chipping along blades. Otherwise, both are intact and excellent with great patina. Chimu has remains of linen wrappings stuck to surface on one side.
