Description:

Pre-Columbian, North/Central Coast Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A lovely gathering of three fine artifacts from the Chimu peoples of ancient Peru. First is a circular silver (90% silver) ring with a thick band and parallel serpentine forms on top. Next is a small cast-copper pin with a perforated midsection and a slender body surmounted by a stylized avian finial. Last is a silvered-copper gorget with an inverse omega-form body, a raised ovoid eye framed within each serrated lateral arm, and a trio of pierced suspension holes. Size of largest (pin): 6.1" L (15.5 cm); quality of silver (ring): 90%; US ring size 6.
