Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A beautiful polished camelid bone flute of slender form, with four finger holes on its downward-curved side and a single hole on the other side. The surface is decorated with small, round circles, each with a dot at its center, forming repeated triangular motifs in bands around the body. Music played an important role in the life of the Chimu, including at rituals and celebrations. Size: 1.1" W x 7.25" H (2.8 cm x 18.4 cm)
