Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A charming blackware stirrup vessel adorned with a pair of birds flanking the spout and a relief of vines with hanging fruits on the top. The ancient vessel sits upon a petite base displaying a wide hip, a rounded top, and a tubular spout. A petite bird sits on each side of the spout with beak attached to the stirrup, while 6 vines flare outwards in a starburst motif at the top, each culminating in an ovoid fruit. Size: 6.2" Diameter x 8.3" H (15.7 cm x 21.1 cm)
