Description:

Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chavin culture, ca. 1200 BCE. A set of beautiful ear spools of tubular form, each hand-carved from mottled beige-hued stone with white and gray inclusions. The accessories are each carved with a notched front panel which is further incised with a quartet of harpy eagles, each with a curved beak and embellishments of red cinnabar. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 1.5" W x 0.7" H (3.8 cm x 1.8 cm); 3" H (7.6 cm) on included custom stand.
