Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Chavin-Cupisnique, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. A hand-built pottery bottle with a lightly rounded but stable base, an apple-shaped body, a rounded shoulder, and a tapered spout with a flared rim. The upper half of the body is adorned with 2 rows of incised flower petals with stippled interior surfaces, and the vessel's highly burnished surfaces are covered in light brown pigment. Size: 5.65" Diameter x 8.1" H (14.4 cm x 20.6 cm)

Provenance: private Hawaii, USA collection, 1995 to 2010; ex-private Hans Jurgen Westermann collection, Germany, collected from 1950 to 1960s
