Description:

Pre-Columbian, South Coast Peru, Nazca culture, ca. 200 to 400 CE. A charming hand-built pottery bowl with a round but stable base and tall walls with a gently flared rim. The exterior is painted in a deep red slip, and the interior basin is decorated with a shark motif! The shark features a S-shaped body with protruding dorsal and pelvic fins, and forked tail, all painted in hues of white, black and orange on the red ground. The large eye gives this might predator an endearing visage! Size: 5.875" W x 2" H (14.9 cm x 5.1 cm)
