Ancient Central Asia, eastern India, Bengal, Chandraketugarh, ca. 2nd century BCE to 1st century CE. An interesting game piece of a circular form, hand-carved from cow bone or that of another ungulate, with a smooth verso and a raised ring surrounding the center. The obverse displays an erotic scene of a nude couple with the man standing behind the woman while she balances with one leg bent at the knee. Size: 1.75" Diameter (4.4 cm); 3.2" H (8.1 cm) on included custom stand.
