Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central Coast, Chancay to Colonial Period, ca. 11th to 18th century CE. A colorful loosely woven gauze like textile panel made from cotton and camelid wool (alpaca or llama). The warp fibers consist of dark blue hues and the striped weft patterning created from the addition of vibrant red and yellow hues. Size: 15" L x 14" W (38.1 cm x 35.6 cm)

Provenance: private Plano, Texas, USA collection, inherited from father in the 1990s
