Pre-Columbian, Central Coast Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1200 CE. A hand-built pottery jar depicting a seated figure wearing dark clothing and bearing black tattoos on the face, eyes, and wrists. The tall forehead doubles as the rim of the vessel and enables liquids to be poured smoothly. Size: 4" L x 3.75" W x 5.875" H (10.2 cm x 9.5 cm x 14.9 cm)
