Pre-Columbian, Central Coast of Peru, Chancay culture, ca. 1000-1200 CE. Chancay ceramic ovoid bottle with lug handles. Finely potted and adorned with four trapezoidal panels on the body, two painted with black and white checkerboard motif, two with series of tadpole egg symbols. In addition the neck and rim are decorated with geometric motifs. A miniature modeled monkey effigy grips one of the handles.
