Description:

Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Chancay, ca. 800 to 1300 CE. A hand-built pottery vessel with a double-globular body, a tall neck, and a thin rim. The body boasts raised details which form the head and body of a stylized anthropomorphic figure whose features are brought forth with black pigment atop the cream-hued ground. Applied eyes and nose as well as hands that rest against the belly comprise the figure, who wears a roundel-adorned headband that wraps around the mid-body. Size: 3.3" W x 5.45" H (8.4 cm x 13.8 cm)
